A Bi Monthly Newsletter from kaivalyadham USA                                       May - June 2006        Issue-1, Vol.-1

Editors Notes :
For the past several years I have had a strong desire to publish a magazine with the Title "Yoga Today". There always seems to be a valid reason for the magazine not making it to the publishers desk.

During my recent trip to India a trip to recharge my spirit. The idea of this newsletter seemed more practical than the magazine. (I have not given up on magazine!)

Apart from nostalgic memories that vibrate with this title, to me , Yoga Today, does not feel to be.
"Yoga in Present" or Yoga for the present Time. If somehow seems camouflaged, by a cloke of Yesterday. We do need a Yesterday, don't misunderstand, but I feel, we need a Yesterday that we as individuals have experienced. Yoga is all about transformation Right? Swamiji has made a very bold attempt to present Yesterdays Philosophy of Yoga to our world of today. It is in the form of scientific yoga. His contribution to humanity is silent yet most powerful. In his Yogic therapy, Swami Kuvalyananda writes
Yoga is not concerned so much with social reforms as with personal reforms. To it, it was man who formed society; if man, the unit of society, was reoriented and rehabilitated properly, the society would reform automatically, " pg 14.

On the similar note there are a lot of Yogis & Yoginis out there working sincerely to make Yoga work for the society of today. My Salutations to them.

Namaste,
Be Peace
